Let me start this journal with a question. What did you do this Friday & the weekend following? Were you stuck at school at Friday? While you were in English or whatever class you have on Fridays, I was hanging out with the United States Navy Blue Angels. Here's a rundown of it all.
Friday:
This was probably the most event full day of the three days I was there. The events took place in Grand Junction and I must say, the drive was scenic as always. I arrived at the regional airport, and the first thing I did was I got to take a tour of the Blue Angels living quarters. I then went out to the flight deck and got a tour of the Blue Angels hanger & all of there jets along with Fat Albert. Fat Albert is a C-130 Hercules & all of the other Blue Angel jets are F/A-18 Super Hornets, there are eight total jets. I got a meet & greet with all of the Blue Angel pilots and some of the mechanics. One of the coolest things we did was play football with the Blue Angels inside there hanger, and I must say, they're better pilots then they are football players. I also was able to take a look at a 1995 Pontiac Trans AM painted with a Blue Angels theme before anyone else. I got a poster signed by all of the Blue Angels and I got my picture taken with all the Blue Angels in front of Jet 6. Shortly afterwords I got to watch the pilots preform their practice show, so I practically had the show to myself. The show was accompanied by hard rock, hence the title of this journal.
Saturday:
This is when the airshow actually took place. I arrived back at the airport, and this time is was of course filled people, events, and booths. The events included a car show, which a hanger was dedicated to these cars. The Trans AM I mentioned earlier was surrounded by people, and there was no way you were going to see it with the crowds. There was a jet powered school bus, which we got to see it race an F/A-18 Hornet. There was also a jet powered porta-potty, which pretty fun. There were all kinds of military aircraft & biplanes. All branches of the military had a booth of course (I was assisting the Navy booth). The usual vendors selling nick-nacks & other souvenirs. Do you know who else attended? The Civil Chair Patrol. So me and a fellow shipmate walked down to their section and we harassed them a little, they did not enjoy our presences. Also we got some VIP action from West Star Aviation as they let us use there building to hang around.
Sunday:
It was pretty much the same thing as Saturday. Some of us got to ride inside of Fat Albert during it's performance, I however did not get to. We got to sit at the West Star Aviation booth and got a free buffet from them. I harassed the Civil Chair Patrol some more and they got all butthurt as expected of people who sit around on their asses all day.
And that is what I did this weekend. Let me ask you again, what did you do this weekend?

CX Journal - Diamonds
Due to extensive research done by the University of Pittsburgh, diamond has been confirmed as the hardest metal known to man. The research is as follows. Pocket-protected scientists built a wall of iron and crashed a diamond car into it at 400 miles per hour, and the car was unharmed. They then built a wall out of diamond and crashed a car made of iron moving at 400 miles an hour into the wall, and the wall came out fine. They then crashed a diamond car made of 400 miles per hour into a wall, and there were no survivors. They crashed 400 miles per hour into a diamond traveling at iron car.
